On Monday, First Lady Melania Trump unveiled this year’s White House Christmas decorations with the theme, “America the Beautiful,” to pay tribute to the nation’s greatness.

In a social media post, Melania explained that the spectacular decorations are her homage to the “‘majesty”’ that is America. She also wrote that she was given an incredible chance to travel for four years and see the country’s landmarks. This experience helped her as the First Lady to appreciate the country even more as she wrote, “Together, we celebrate this land we are all proud to call home.”

Melania also shared a video that highlights the decorations. The First Lady was seen walking among a room filled with Christmas trees. She also shared some of the more thoughtful details, which include tiny ornaments that resemble the Air Force One. Another ornament also includes a “Be Best,” which referred to her anti-bullying campaign. Melania also added a sequined bag with the American flag.

In addition, the First Lady decked the White House’s East Wing with the Gold Star family tree. According to the White House press release, this was the administration’s way to honor and commemorate the country’s fallen servicemen. They also added that the families of the fallen heroes were able to place their loved one’s names and their pictures on the Christmas tree ribbons.

Aside from paying tribute to America’s heroes, the First Lady also honored the women’s suffrage movement. This was the administration’s way to recognize the 100th year of the ratification of the 19th amendment and celebrate the women who had fought for gender equality. The library also contained the children’s art competition drawings that the First Lady hosted last year.

The White House’s Blue Room also celebrated diversity. The room, which displayed an 18-foot Christmas tree, was decorated with art made by students across the country and was meant to highlight cultural diversity. The White House statement beautifully concluded the decorations, “Glistening on the branches, their mini masterpieces collectively showcase America, the beautiful.”

To top it all off, Melania also displayed a Gingerbread House in the State Dining Room. The Gingerbread serves as a miniature replica of the White House and was made from 110 pounds of dough, 25 pounds of royal icing, 30 pounds of gum paste, and 25 pounds of chocolate.
