On Wednesday, President Donald Trump just pardoned Lt. Gen. Michael Flynn (Ret.), who served as his National Security Advisor. He announced his decision on Twitter.

“It is my Great Honor to announce that General Michael T. Flynn has been granted a Full Pardon. Congratulations to @GenFlynn and his wonderful family, I know you will now have a truly fantastic Thanksgiving!” The President said in his tweet.

Back in 2017, Flynn pleaded guilty to lying to the FBI but later withdrew his plea. Flynn served in the armed forces for over thirty years. He then served as Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA) under Obama. He felt that Obama was not pursuing real terrorists and for that he was fired.

He saw that President Trump was a real patriot who would be pursuing policies that are truly beneficial to the American people, including being more aggressive towards terrorists. He helped to campaign for President Trump back in 2016, and he quickly became a crowd favorite when it comes to speaking in public.

After the President won, he appointed Flynn to be his National Security Advisor. Right after the election, Hillary Clinton started to spread the baseless lie that she lost because of Russian interference. Officials from the Obama administration worked together with the mainstream media and identified Flynn as the possible link between the Russians and the President’s campaign.

Flynn did have a conversation with the Russian ambassador, but there was nothing nefarious about it. They were discussing policies but the media and the left hyped it up. The FBI investigated Flynn but could not find any wrongdoing, so they came after him using an obscure law. He was later on forced to accept a plea deal, which cost him his freedom.

The Democrats and their mainstream media allies made an example out of general Flynn and they ruined his life. It is just fitting that the President should pardon him because he did nothing wrong and was just serving his country as a true patriot.
