A 58-year-old man from New York threatened to go on a shooting rampage at a Jewish children’s camp on Long Island if the kids failed to wear a mask.

On Monday, Nassau County police arrested Nicola Pelle for making a “terroristic threat and on alleged weapons violations.” The incident began when Pelle called authorities to report that children were playing in the yard without wearing a mask. At that time, 500 children were attending a Yeshiva Ketana camp in Long Island.

While the authorities were on their way to the camp, Pelle made a second call. This time, he threatened police officers that he would go on a shooting rampage against any kids who were not wearing a mask. “If I gotta go out there with a freaking machine gun and shoot all these people, I will,” the suspect said.

When the police arrived, they notified the suspect that they had to make an arrest and Pelle admitted to making the call. Then on Tuesday, officers finally charged the 58-year-old on the account of making terroristic threats, and two counts of criminal possession of a firearm. He was later released on a bond.

In a report from ABC News, the suspect possessed a valid county pistol permit and had five guns. He also owned several rifles and shotguns, as well as two other assault weapons. Overall, 14 weapons were seized from the suspect.

The principal, Rabbi Tzvi Krigsman Menahel also thanked police officers for giving a “transparent investigation” on the incident and was “very thankful” for the authorities’’ quick response.

Currently, Jewish communities in the Democrat-led state are experiencing a growing sense of antisemitism, not only against other criminals but even from the city’s own elected officials. In a social media post, New York City Mayor Bill De Blasio singled out the Jewish community over strict social distancing guidelines, DeBlasio warned that the city is done issuing warnings. He went on to claim that he had already given a green light to the NYPD to immediately make an arrest against those who continue to gather in large groups. He claimed that the mandate was for the sake of saving lives.

However, DeBlasio failed to make her daughter accountable after being arrested during a BLM protest in New York.

In another report from The New York times, there is an increasing number of violent incidents that were directed against members of the Jewish community. In fact, the city lists this year as one of the highest numbers of anti-semitic incidents including the three people who were killed in a shooting at a kosher supermarket and five injured in a knife attack at a rabbi’s home in Monsey.
