Teenagers who were trying to evade the police jumped the fence at President Trump’s Mar-a-Lago resort. When they were caught, it was discovered that they were carrying an automatic rifle with a loaded magazine in a bag. The three 15-year-old boys were soon arrested after they entered the grounds of the resort. The police say that they probably did not know where they were and that they have trespassed into the president’s property.

A Palm Beach police officer reported seeing the three teenagers sitting inside a parked car around 2 miles from Mar-a-Lago. When they noticed his police, they sped away in their car in the direction of the resort. They soon spotted another police vehicle on the road that was there because of an unrelated traffic stop. The teenagers stopped their vehicle since they must have assumed that a roadblock had been set up to catch them.

The three jumped over the fence of the resort and hid within the grounds. Police officers surrounded Mar-a-Lago, and they used dogs and helicopters to help find the boys. Fortunately, they did not try to break into any of the buildings found within the grounds. Another fortunate thing for the boys is that the president nor any of his family were staying in the resort during the incident.

Had President Trump been there or any of his immediate family members, the place would have been filled with Secret Service agents, and the boys might have been shot when they jumped the fence. The three teenagers claim that they just found the rifle in their possession. They have been charged with trespassing with a firearm, burglary with a firearm, and resisting arrest without violence. Prosecutors will decide whether they should be charged as adults, and in the meantime, they are being held at a detention facility for juvenile offenders.

This is not the first incident that someone tried breaking into Mar-a-Lago since Trump has become the president. In January of this year, there were two incidents of security breaches there. The last one was when a deranged singer from Connecticut crashed an SUV into a checkpoint just outside of the resort. In another incident, a dishonorably discharged Marine was caught pretending to be a member of the president’s staff. That happened just after the president and his family left the resort. There have been other security incidents in the resort, and this just highlights the need for stricter security measures there.
