Former President and fellow Republican George W. Bush is reportedly not backing President Donald Trump in the upcoming 2020 elections in November, according to a source, the New York Times reported.

Bush is just one of the many well-known Republicans who is reported not to support President Trump in November. His brother, former Republican Gov. Jeb Bush (FL), is also reportedly impartial on who he will give his presidential vote to, according to the NYT.

“This is completely made up,” Bush’s spokesperson Freddy Ford said in a statement to the Texas Tribune. Ford explained that the former president is retired from being involved in presidential politics and has not yet indicated how he will vote.

It’s not yet clear why rumors of Bush not supporting Trump in 2020 came up. However, reports say that President Trump’s response regarding the Wuhan coronavirus crisis and the ongoing police brutality and Black Lives Matter (BLM) movement protests are some of the reasons why other well-known Republicans won’t be voting for Trump.

Other Republicans who reportedly will not be voting for Trump in the 2020 presidential elections include Cindy McCain, Sen. Mitt Romney (Utah), and former Secretary of State Colin Powell. Powell was keen on letting his opinions be heard regarding his vote in November. In an appearance on CNN’s “State of the Union,” Powell said that he “cannot in any way support President Trump this year.” However, it is not disclosed yet whether the Republicans not supporting Trump will plan to vote for Democratic presidential nominee Sleepy Joe Biden.

Out of the spotlight actress, Debra Messing chimed in the discussion and tweeted a list of Republicans who have “denounced” President Trump.

Messing is a vocal anti-Trumper who has been involved in a lot of hate-giving towards the President. Her latest attack was last week when she tweeted a photo of Nazi Germany’s leader Adolf Hitler in a similar pose holding a Bible next to a photo of Trump holding a Bible in front of St. John’s Episcopal Church. But as it turns out, the photo was edited, and in the end, Messing got called out for spreading fake news.

Bush’s spokesperson said Bush would not involve himself in the upcoming 2020 election. He only plans to focus and speak on policy issues.
