As violent riots broke out across America, surveillance footage showed a man yelling “Allahu Akbar!” while he stabbed an NYPD cop.

On Saturday, the New York Police Department released the surveillance footage. The video showed how a Serbian immigrant, Dzenan Camovic, 20, ran into a corner before he stabbed police officer Yayonfrant Jean Pierre, in the neck. Camovic screamed the phrase “Allahu Akbar,” which translates to the word “God is Great” while he plunged the knife on the officer’s neck.

Fortunately, another officer immediately ran into the victim’s aid; the officer asked Pierre if he had been stabbed, to which the victim replied with a yes. Officers who had responded to the incident shot the suspect eight times after he had tried to fight off by reaching into Pierre’s gun. A total of 22 shots fired during the incident, and friendly fires were ruled out by law enforcement.

NYPD also reported that two other officers, Randy Ramnarine and Dexter Chiu, were shot. Camovic had been charged with attempted murder and remained hospitalized. Pierre, a Haitian immigrant, has finally returned home from the bloody incident and is now recovering. His wife had been overwhelmed by the incident, saying, “It’s a lot, and I have no words right now.”

Currently, law enforcement officers were unable to link the suspect to any organized terror group. However, authorities believed that Camovic’s actions were similar to other anti-police terrorist attacks in other parts of the world. John Miller, the NYPD’s deputy commissioner of counter-terrorism, concluded that the attack was similar to the attacks in Paris. In a statement, Miller claimed that “All the hallmarks that would be out of the terrorist playbook,” Miller said at a briefing from NYPD headquarters in lower Manhattan.

Watch:

As protests erupt over the death of 46-year-old George Floyd, several police officers have been a target of violent attacks. On Sunday, a convicted felon had been charged for the death of a 77-year-old retired police captain, David Dorn.

According to police reports, the retired police officer was guarding Lee’s Pawn and Jewelry as massive riots and lootings broke out in the city. In the surveillance footage, the victim was seen arriving at the pawnshop as the suspect, along with other men, had been robbing the store.

Then, Cannon walked into the corner of the store with a gun, shooting Dorn as he left him to die on the sidewalk. As authorities inspected Cannon’s residence, they found a TV that was looted from the pawnshop. As of the moment, the suspect is held under police custody without bail. The announcement came from The St. Louis Police Department in which Dorn had served for several years.
