Across the country, thousands of protesters have joined in to loot stores and burn down buildings in an ultimate act of protest against the death of George Floyd, an African-American man who had died under police custody last Monday.

While thousands have joined in to beat helpless civilians, robbed local businesses, and burned down churches, others were trying to find more peaceful forms of protest. One group of protesters in Washington locked their hands and formed a human barricade to protect police officers.

In the video footage, protesters tried to shield police officers outside Washington D.C. from the violent attacks against an angry mob. Two women can be found wearing a red statement shirt that says, “Make Racism Wrong Again,” while another one wore a shirt that read “BLACK–WHITE–HUMAN.”

One woman told the protesters that “This is good.” However, she claimed that there is a better and more peaceful way to make changes, “y’all can write to Congress…” the woman suggested. However, another woman screamed, saying that it doesn’t work, ‘I signed people up for that, it doesn’t work.” One man angrily responded that it was not okay for police officers to treat black lives as such. Despite the chaos, the women pleaded that inciting violence cannot bring back George Floyd.

Based on the footage that was obtained by Breitbart News, one man shouts at the woman in the red t-shirt, “we here to make a point to show that this shit is not okay!” The woman replied, “it’s not going to bring George Floyd back,” before later adding, “this is not the answer,” referring to the violent protests.

Watch:

For the second day in a row, violent protests have erupted outside of the White House. On Sunday night, protesters charged in and attacked two journalists who were filming the riots, including a Breitbart News correspondent, Matthew Perdie. The incident happened a little after midnight after demonstrators clashed against the White House Secret service.

Watch:

Protesters have targeted conservative media correspondents after they chased another journalist screaming “F*CK FOX NEWS!” and tried to rattle the metal barricade.

President Donald Trump praised the Secret Service for ensuring the safety of those who were in the White House. The President described them as “cool” and “very professional” and had “never let it get out of hand.” Trump added that if the protesters make it inside the White House, they will come face to “vicious dogs” and “weapons.”

In another press conference, the Department of Justice (DOJ) Attorney General William Barr claimed that anti-fascism group Antifa was behind the violent riots, which have spread out from California to Boston. The AG condemned the actions, citing that “Groups of outside radical agitators are exploiting the situation to pursue their own separate and violent agenda,” said Barr.

Moreover, in Santa Monica, California, another peaceful protest took place amidst intense violence and robbery in the area. Hundreds of residents gathered, carrying signs which bear Floyd’s last words, ‘I can’t breathe”, as well as signs that read “Black lives matter.” The police were able to stop the protest from moving further, and the crowd had peacefully dispersed.

In Minnesota, Gov. Walz has ordered the help of the National Guard for the first time in the state’s history due to the increasing threat of violence from the protesters.
