On Thursday, Radio Free Asia (RFA) reported that the Chinese Communist Party’s (CCP) ridiculous efforts to push lawmakers in Wisconsin to pass a resolution praising Beijing for handling the coronavirus failed and “backfired spectacularly.”

Apparently, the Chinese consulate has been sending emails to Wisconsin Senate President Roger Roth (R) since early February and March. The consulate urged Roth to pass a resolution praising the communist country China. The emails contained a resolution written by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP), commending the Chinese government for being “transparent and quick in sharing key information of the virus with the WHO and the international community,” which was the complete opposite of what really happened.

The request of the CCP to praise China angered the Wisconsin senator, saying that he was “mad as hell.” When he received the email on February 26, he dismissed it as a prank, seeing that it also came from an unknown Hotmail account. But when he received a follow-up email on March 10, Roth instructed his staff to research and look into further details of the email and the sender. As it turned out, the emails were a genuine message from the Chinese consulate. Feeling mad and disrespected, Roth fired back with a one-word reply, “Nuts.”

However, Roth revealed that he believed that the truth is, the bizarre and outrageous request wasn’t only sent to Wisconsin, but to other state legislatures as well. Roth claimed that the Chinese embassy felt “completely comfortable doing this” because it works, most of the time, and even if it doesn’t, they had nothing to lose as people rarely go public.

Kissinger Institute’s analyst Rui Zhong reaffirmed Roth’s statements and said that politicians from other states might have been receiving similar emails from CCP, requesting communist-friendly laws and resolutions. “As the narrative of COVID-19 solidifies within China, we are going to start seeing embassies and consulates in various places start to adapt that in their external communications efforts,” Rui said.

Due to China’s fearless and outrageous approach to Roth, he was motivated to introduce a law that would hold the CCP accountable for trying to involve the Wisconsin legislature with Chinese “propaganda and falsehoods.”

If passed, the resolution would show the Wisconsin legislature confirming that the Chinese Communist Party has “deliberately and intentionally misled the world” by holding back crucial and vital information, allowing large travels of individuals despite the threat of human-to-human transmission of the virus, and the persecution of individuals who tried to reveal the truth behind the virus which has led to a worldwide pandemic that has not been seen for generations.
