Following President Donald Trump’s announcement to halt funding for the World Health Organization (WHO) due to their alleged tie-up with communist China in trying to cover up the coronavirus pandemic, the WHO is pushing forward with their star-studded benefit concert on Saturday.

The global health organization is facing a number of allegations and scandals regarding the coronavirus outbreak. The WHO’s refusal to share crucial information was exposed by Taiwan after leaking an email sent to the organization. Their director-general, Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, is also being called to resign after allegations that the WHO failed to take immediate action despite early warnings from Taiwan.

The health organization’s event called “One World: Together at Home” is aimed to celebrate healthcare workers and other frontliners working hard to fight against coronavirus. The concert is scheduled to air in the US on Saturday via Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, and other platforms, plus in three major broadcasting stations.

Spearheaded by Lady Gaga, the concert will feature a wide roster of talents, including Jessie J, Billie Eilish, Lizzo, Alicia Keys, Adam Lambert, Paul McCartney, and Stevie Wonder.

On Wednesday, Global Citizen, a non-profit organization focusing on poverty and the WHO’s partner in the said event, tweeted that an additional lineup of Hollywood stars, which included Oprah, Jennifer Lopez, and Taylor Swift will be joining the concert.
