epublican lawmakers announced on Thursday that they are introducing a bill that will allow Americans hurt and affected by the coronavirus pandemic to file charges against China.

Senator Marsha Blackburn (R-Tennessee) and Senator Martha McSally (R-Arizona) announced on Twitter that they would be introducing the “Stop COVID Act” to make China pay for “unleashing COVID-19 in our country” and for covering up vital information that led to the pandemic.

Sen. Blackburn further explained that American citizens victimized by the communist country China deserve the right to call China to US court and demand compensation for damages.

Sen. McSally followed up Blackburn’s tweet and claimed that “The Chinese government must be held accountable for the pain it inflicted across the US.”

The Chinese government has been facing massive backlash from Americans and politicians because of alleged coronavirus coverups and failing to inform other countries of a dangerous virus outbreak from early on. This also led to President Trump’s decision to halt funding for the World Health Organization (WHO) as the health organization is allegedly “China-centric” and has been aiding the communist nation China to withhold information.

New reports also show that apparently, the COVID-19 virus first spread from the Wuhan Institute of Virology, contrary to official reports made by China that ground zero of the coronavirus pandemic was in a wet market in Wuhan.

Other Republican politicians also push for legislative bills allowing Americans to hold the Chinese government liable for everything related to the coronavirus, like Senator Tom Cotton (R-AK) and Rep. Dan Crenshaw (R-TX). Their bill called “Holding the Chinese 5 Communist Party Accountable for Infecting Americans 6 Act of 2020,” would let Americans sue China in US federal court for any “death, injury, and economic harm caused by the Wuhan Virus.”

The coronavirus pandemic has affected nearly two million people worldwide and has taken over 140,000 lives.
