President Donald Trump gave the media a taste of their own medicine as he showed them a video pointing out their reporting failures on coronavirus during his White House press briefing on Monday.

“THE MEDIA MINIMIZED THE RISK FROM THE START,” a text from the nearly four-minute video clip read. Then showed previous clips of different media personalities and outlets downplaying the threat of COVID-19 in the United States.

The video continued to show clips of partisans who continued to take a swipe and criticize the president’s every move, including the White House’s decision to impose travel bans and implement quarantine rules in the country.

Reporters were stunned as they watched their flaws get exposed. It was just a taste of what they have been constantly and tirelessly throwing at the president and the administration.

Over the past few weeks, left-wing supporters and media outlets were having a field day and took every opportunity they had to bash Trump and his handling of the coronavirus pandemic. Dem supporters claimed that the president acted too late thus, failing to mitigate the virus efficiently and even blamed him for COVID-19 related deaths.

Instead of having a united front and getting rid of all kinds of bipartisanship during these trying times to combat the deadly pandemic, the Trump administration has received nothing but backlash and criticism from the other party. Fake news circulated the media, which led to spreading fear and panic to the public. The president even requested the media to stop with the fake news just for a while.

However, the president wasn’t one to back down and just accept all the false claims thrown at him and his team. The video further showed a timeline of Trump’s actions to fight the pandemic. The four-minute clip also featured the praise and recognition the president received from Democratic governors like Andrew Cuomo.

After the shocking “truth bomb” video, reporters were prompted to ask for the source of the clips and claims. Jonathan Karl, a White House reporter, questioned the president on why he would use a “campaign-style” video. The president responded that the video was compiled and produced by the White House staff in a couple of hours to show the media their reporting failures. He added, “We could have given you hundreds just like that.” But he didn’t as the president didn’t want it to go on for too long.

When asked why he decided to put up a video like that on a White House press briefing, Trump responded, “Because we’re getting fake news, and I like to have it corrected.”
