As the country faces a record-breaking 6.6 million unemployment claims, Trump’s re-election campaign team had thought of other ways to support American workers.

Since the 2020 general election efforts are currently on hold in favor of fighting the deadly coronavirus pandemic, the president’s re-election team has been placing anonymous orders on local restaurants. The massive quantities of food were then donated to hospital workers who had been working non-stop to treat COVID-19 patients.

In a Fox News exclusive report, the media outlet claimed that the campaign team had been rounding up local restaurants and ordering massive quantities of food to be delivered in hospitals under coronavirus hotspots. Such areas include New York, New Jersey, Michigan, and Washington. The report claimed that the anonymous callers had spent tens and thousands of dollars on local restaurants in the past few weeks.

However, it had been confirmed that Trump’s re-election team was behind the charitable deed. The campaign team confirmed that they would continue to donate food as the country prepares for what Trump called a “very very painful” two weeks ahead.

The source stated that “They’re doing it as a donor who cares,” adding that there were no political motivations for the donations, but rather a way to thank medical workers for their efforts to combat the virus. One restaurant in New Jersey, Giovanni’s Italian Deli, told Fox News that an anonymous individual had placed an order to Hudson Regional Hospital. The list includes 40 platters of pasta, sandwiches, and salads. “We’re happy to do it. Trust me,” an employee said.

Other private businesses are also working together to give their support to medical practitioners. In another coronavirus hotspot, Sauce Pizzeria in New York was working overtime to provide food for doctors and nurses. In fact, the pizzeria was making as much as 400 plates a day, and spending as much as 14 to 18-hour shifts. The owner, Adam Elzer, claimed that he was inspired to donate food when a nurse told him how medical staffs were so “swamped” with work that they do not even have enough time to sit down and eat lunch.

While others were focusing on providing meals for healthcare workers, big businesses have also teamed up to provide the medical equipment hospitals need to treat coronavirus-stricken patients.

Some of the businesses were from the automobile industry, including Ford, who has partnered with 3M and GE healthcare to produce ventilators and PPEs. Toyota has also stepped in to allow its North American facilities to make face shields. There’s also General Motors, who were mass-producing ventilators and respiratory masks. Finally, Fiat Chrysler has also chipped in and donated more than one million face masks.

Even tech giants have also contributed to coronavirus efforts. Companies include HP, who has used 3D printing to produce medical equipment parts. The social media company, Facebook have also raised millions to donate for COVID-19 relief efforts and have also provided 720,000 masks. In addition, Apple has also donated N-95 masks while both Microsoft and Amazon had donated $1 million for the COVID-19 Response Fund in the Seattle area.

Finally, Tesla has ordered more than 1,000 ventilators from communist China to be shipped in the US. While another Tesla funded company, SpaceX, made hand sanitizers and face shields that will be distributed to local hospitals.
