In a newly released video, Trump retaliates against Mitt Romney after the senator said that he had voted to impeach the president.

In the video, Trump reminded everyone how Romney was easy to switch sides—all in the pursuit of power. The clip started with the narrator saying that after Trump won the 2016 election, Romney visited the newly elected president. The visit was an attempt to persuade Trump to nominate him as Secretary of State.

As the narrator said, “slick, slippery, stealthy Mitt Romney had us fooled.” The narrator added, “posing as a Republican, he tried to infiltrate Trump’s administration as Secretary of State—now his cover is blown.”

The video also featured a clip where Romney praised the president and shared how grateful he was for the endorsement. It also featured how Romney became a “Democrat asset,” and how he had failed president Obama during the 2012 elections in a devastating miscalculation.

Finally, it reminded the audience of the greatest victory—Trump beat Hilary Clinton, despite the opposition’s vicious attacks.

Watch:

The events unfolded after Romney announced last Wednesday on the Senate Floor that he believed Trump was guilty of “abuse of power,” and should be rightfully impeached.

“I swore an oath before God to exercise impartial justice. I am profoundly religious. “My faith is at the heart of who I am. I take an oath before God as enormously consequential,” Romney said.

Romney continued “The president is guilty of an appalling abuse of public trust. What he did was not perfect. No, it was a flagrant assault on our electoral rights, our national security, and our fundamental values. Corrupting an election to keep oneself in office is perhaps the most abusive and destructive violation of one’s oath of office that I can imagine.” However, Romney also recognized that his vote cannot remove Trump from the White House, and even shared the Democrat’s plan on going for an appeal.

The problem is that Romney was constantly known for switching sides, going to whoever would fit his best interest. In a report from Breitbart News, the media outlet claimed that Romney’s first betrayal was not with the president, but with the American people.

In the article, Breitbart described how Romney created a “voter suppression strategy.” The media outlet claimed that the Democrats pawned poor white voters without a college education, and who lived in what was considered as a “Rust Belt” and the “Mountain of the West.” Their plan was to demoralize and alienate the Republican candidate. However, voter turnouts did not go as planned, and the American blue-collar workers have understood Romney’s venture capitalist nature. In fact, it might also be the very same reason why he wanted Trump out of the White House.

A company that Romney founded called Bain Capital was private equity which allowed its shareholders to buy out American companies, giving them massive interest and loading them with debts. This then forced the companies to shut their factories and ship job overseas to lower the cost of production.

Romney’s scheme had in fact taken thousands of jobs from American workers, an issue in which President Donald Trump wanted to resolve with his “America First” order.
