Trump Shared Space Force’s New Logo. People Complained It Was Copied From Star Trek, But That’s Not True
President Trump’s tweet of the new logo for the U.S. Space Force drew a lot of criticism from his usual haters.

The Space Force logo looks very similar to the insignia of Starfleet.
Most of them complained that it was ripped off from Star Trek, including actor George Takei, who played Hikaru Sulu in Star Trek.
I feel like Melania must have had a hand in copyi--I mean, designing this.

Actress Mia Farrow also pointed out the similarity.

A few Twitter users noted Star Trek’s Starfleet insignia was modeled after NASA’s logo from 1959.
An article on Star Trek’s website titled “Starfleet Insignia Explained” confirms it.
“In the Star Trek universe, the delta emblem is a direct descendant of the vector component of the old NASA (and later UESPA) logos in use during Earth’s space programs of the 20th and 21st Centuries. Those symbols were worn by some of the first space explorers and adorned uniforms and ships during humanity’s first steps into the final frontier,” reads the Star Trek article.

A U.S. Space Force spokesperson explained the history of the delta symbol.
More: We don’t know who specifically designed the Space Force logo. When asked, Maj. Will Russell, U.S. Space Force spokesperson, told Yello, "The President selected the United States Space Force seal from a number of seal options provided by the Department of the Air Force."
