President Trump tweeted a photoshopped image of Obama spying on him with binoculars Thursday. He did not write a caption because it did not need one.

The photo is a reference to the recent news of the FBI’s handing of two applications for Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA) warrants for Carter Page, Trump’s campaign aide, that were unlawfully authorized.

The president’s tweet garnered over 305,000 likes and 74,000 retweets.

In 2016, the FBI got a warrant to spy on Cater Page on suspicions he was a Russian agent. The warrant was renewed three times, including during the early months of Trump’s presidency.

The FBI omitted that for five years Page was an “operational contact for the CIA” in order to obtain the warrant. The omission to disclose Page’s position with the CIA was concerning to the IG because an FBI attorney had specifically asked if he had a current or prior relationship with any federal agency.

James Boasberg, the presiding judge of Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court, said the DOJ informed the court in December that two of the four applications were invalid due to the “insufficient predication to establish probable cause to believe that Page was acting as an agent of a foreign power.” The order was declassified and made public on Thursday.

The court is expected to get explanations from the Justice Department by next week about the other warrant applications and more information about related investigations and litigation.
