Bernie Sanders is getting criticism for a leaked memo of his list of demands while on the campaign trail.

According to Daily Mail, a tour rider from his 2020 presidential campaign leaked what is known as a “Senator Comfort Memo.” The two-page memo, dated April 10, 2019, and marked “confidential for campaign staff use only not for circulation,” details specific requests that need to be met for Sander’s hotels, food, drink, staff, and family.

The list of items Sanders expects daily: one healthy low sugar drink, one small bottle of red Gatorade, one bottle of Smart Water, English breakfast tea, green tea with honey, and a small can of unsalted cashews/walnuts/almonds, and clementines.

The bed in his hotel room “should be a king with a down comforter,” but he “does not need a large suite” since the senator is okay with a junior suite with a lounge area. Then, there’s the placement of the hotel room which cannot be in close proximity of elevators, ice machines, or high traffic areas.

Before Sanders arrives, he requests the staff do some “quality control before arrival, such as ensuring the room temperatue is “60 to 65 degrees with one fan running.” The room is to be checked for “leaky faucets and slow flushing toilets, and slow draining bathtubs.”

The 78-year-old self-described Democratic Socialist lives like a rock star. Sanders owns three homes including a waterfront vacation home in Vermont, prefers traveling by private jet or first class around the county, and wears high-end clothing.

Recently, Newsweek released article with a headline that read, “Socialist Bernie Sanders wears a $700 jacket while complaining about rich people.”

In 2017, Sanders tweeted, “How many yachts do billionaires need? How many cars do they need? Give us a break. You can’t have it all.” But Sanders got some replies he deserved.
