President Trump and First Lady Attend Church on Christmas Eve
President Trump and First Lady Melania attended church service on Christmas Eve in West Palm Beach, Florida. The church’s pastor Jimmy Scroggins and his family welcomed the couple as they made their way into Family Church for the Candlelight Christmas Celebration.
President Trump said, “Merry Christmas, everybody,” and was met with cheers and applause as he and the First Lady walked into the church.
The couple sat in the third pew during the traditional church service of Christmas carols and scripture readings. Pastor Scroggins talked about the birth of Jesus during the sermon and made a nod to the President and First Lady. “There was no Secret Service. There was no motorcade. There was no gaggle of press,” said Scoggins.
After church service, President Trump and the First Lady had Christmas eve dinner at Mar-a-Lago.
A reporter asked the president if he prayed for House Speaker Nancy Pelosi. The president did not respond to the question but instead said, “We’re going to have a great year.”
