In a meeting with NATO allies in London President Trump railed against the Democrats and the impeachment witch-hunt that is currently going on in the U.S. House of Representatives. He told NATO Secretary General, former Norwegian Prime Minister Jens Stoltenberg, that “The Democrats have gone nuts. They’re crazy. The impeachment hoax is going nowhere. We have tremendous support. In the history of the Republican Party, there’s not been this support.”

President Trump then continued to expand on his feelings about Democrats and the impeachment inquiry saying, “I think it’s very unpatriotic of the Democrats to put on a performance when they do that. The impeachment thing is a hoax. It’s turned out to be a hoax. It’s done for purely political gain. They will see if they can do something in 2020, because otherwise they’re gonna lose.”

When discussing the possibly of a censure recommendation as opposed to an impeachment one, President Trump said that would still be “unacceptable”. He maintains, “I did nothing wrong. I heard about it. Now they want to go to censure because they have no case for impeachment. So they want to go to censure. I don’t want them to go to censure. I did nothing wrong. I don’t mind being censured if you do something wrong but I did nothing wrong. They’re what you call an investigation in search of crime. Not only wasn’t there a crime, it’s not even a word that should be used.”
