Democrats Officially Vote to Move to Next Step of Impeachment Process
In an unsurprising move, the Democrats in the House of Representatives have voted to move ahead with the impeachment of President Trump. After days of closed door meetings discussing the issue, the House voted, mainly along party lines, to begin televised hearings of the impeachment.

232 Representatives voted in favor and 196 voted no. 4 members did not vote, Jody Hice (R- GA), John Rose (R-TN), William Timmons (R-SC), and Donald McEachin (D-VA). Two Democrats did stand up to their party and vote no. They are Jeff Van Drew (D-NJ) and Collin Peterson (D-MN). On former Republican who is now an Independent, Justin Amash (I-MI), voted in favor of the resolution.
All House Republicans vote against the resolution. Two Democrats — Rep. Collin Peterson and Rep. Jeff Van Drew — also opposed the resolution.

President Trump was obviously unhappy with these developments and took to twitter to voice his displeasure with the “witchhunt” that House Democrats are engaging on. He also noted the “impeachment hoax” is hurting the stock market.
