During one of the biggest Special Forces military operations in history, many top Democrats were left in the dark. On Sunday, President Trump confirmed that he did not tell Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) to help avoid potential leaks that could have put American military lives in danger. This did not sit well with Speaker Pelosi.

When asked by reporters if he informed Pelosi first, President Trump said, “No, I didn’t do that,” adding, “I wanted to make sure this kept secret. I didn’t want to have men lost, and women. I don’t want to have people lost.” He continued on the theme of wanting to keep soldiers safe explaining, “There is no country in the world that leaks like we do. And Washington is a leaking machine and I told my people, we will not notify them until the – our great people are out. Not just in, but out.”

In a statement after the announcement, Pelosi blasted President Trump saying “The House must be briefed on this raid, which the Russians but not top Congressional Leadership were notified of in advance, and on the Administration’s overall strategy in the region. Our military and allies deserve strong, smart and strategic leadership from Washington.” She also felt the need to praise President Obama for Osama bin-Laden being killed during his administration.

It is completely understandable for President Trump not to inform the politicians who are openly attacking his presidency, especially when a leak could possibly lead to U.S. soldiers being in jeopardy. Many House Democrats, led by Pelosi have been out for blood with the President. Pelosi and her Senate henchman Chuck Schumer (D-NY) walked out of an important meeting with the President recently right to waiting microphones in a display of political theater designed to undermine President Trump.
