President Trump Calls Out NBA Coach Steve Kerr for Silence on China
Outspoken NBA coach Steve Kerr has been notably silent on the NBA’s current issues with China. The Golden State Warriors coach has been outspoken on many social issues during his tenure with the Bay Area-based team. However, Kerr has refused to give any real comment on the situation in China where the NBA has considerable financial relationships and the Warriors are one of, if not the most, popular teams.
When asked if he had a comment on the situation Kerr said, “actually I don’t.” Looking visibly uncomfortable the progressive coach continued to stutter and stammer through his answer saying, “it’s a really… it’s a really bizarre international story”.
Steve Kerr has no comment on NBA’s China issues. He comments on every Trump tweet and can’t support democracy in China? What a complete and total coward. pic.twitter.com/Fr4FJIaOW0

Kerr has been extra critical of President Trump in his first three years in office, even famously refusing to visit the White House after winning an NBA Championship. He has also allied on members of congress to criticize the President more.
President Trump too notice of how Kerr changed his tune when asked about the authoritarian government of China. I a press conference the President said Kerr was “like a little boy” who was “so scared to even be answering the question”. He also added that while Kerr would not criticize China, he is never shy to “talk about the United States very badly.” The President also lumped another vocal critic and NBA coach into this category as he brought up San Antonio Spurs coach Gregg Popovich as having a similar reaction when asked about China.
