His campaign has released the following statement: “Sen. Sanders is conversing and in good spirits. He will be resting up over the next few days. We are canceling his events and appearances until further notice, and we will continue to provide appropriate updates.”
In a recent interview, Jimmy Carter, now the oldest ever living former President at 95 years-old, said that he would not been able to keep up with the physical and mental demands of the job as president in his 80s. Sanders is currently 78, if elected would be 79 when he took office, and 83 at the end of his first term.
In the wake of the Senator’s health crisis, well wishes for a speedy recovery have poured in from both sides of the aisle.
