Joe Biden is already setting the expectations of the public for the time when he resigns from the presidency even though he has not been declared as the official winner of the presidential election yet. Biden joked about catching some disease and then resigning during an appearance on CNN on Thursday. He was mainly discussing his working relationship with his running mate Kamala Harris.

“The thing we are simpatico on is our philosophy of government and simpatico on how we want to approach these issues that we’re facing,” Biden said.

“When we disagree, it will be just like—so far, it’s been just like Barack, and I did. It’s in private. She’ll say I think we should do A, B, C, or D, and I’ll say I like A, don’t like B or C. And like I told Barack, if I read something where there’s a fundamental disagreement we have based on a moral principle, I’ll develop some disease and say I have to resign,” he added.

The former vice president added that they had discussed their views on foreign and domestic policies. “And the great thing is she has a background in the Senate, on intelligence, the Intelligence Committee. She has a background in the Senate on a whole range of things that are going to be pertinent to what we have to do,” Biden explained.

Biden seems to be promoting the idea that Harris will be taking over the presidency from him. That only confirms the theories that have been going around since Biden named Harris as his running mate. There were plenty of rumors that the Democrats really are planning to have Harris replace Biden and that they are going to use the 25th Amendment to get Biden replaced.

Critics have pointed out the deteriorating cognitive capacity of the former vice president. He committed gaffe after gaffe during the campaign, and now others wonder if he can last if he gets into the White House. Biden’s physical condition is doubtful as well; he has even broken his foot while staying inside his house.
