On Tuesday, the New York State Sheriff released a lengthy statement blasting Democratic NY Gov. Andrew Cuomo over his draconian health restrictions for Thanksgiving.

As the country heads on to the holiday season, Cuomo ordered local residents to refrain from large, private gatherings. To ensure this, the Governor instructed authorities to enforce a 10-person limit on Thanksgiving celebrations.

However, the NY Sheriffs fought back, saying that they will not enforce the rule. In their statement, the law enforcement officers began by praising New Yorkers for successfully flattening the curve. They boasted that local residents were disciplined enough that the state no longer had to enforce stricter and more drastic measures for them to comply.

With this, the NY sheriffs assured that they would not barge in on families’ Thanksgiving celebration to count the number of people that are in the room. They explained that it is not practical or Constitutional for them to enforce. The authorities also turned against Cuomo, saying that his draconian orders would be “impossible” to apply.

The Sheriffs also referred to the growing hatred against the police as they likened Cuomo to a dictator. They explained that Cuomo’s response to their concerns with regards to the 10-person rule was simply dismissed. “All of those are serious questions which make it impossible for law enforcement to know how to legally enforce the Governor’s order,” the letter read. They claimed that instead of following a clear set of laws approved by the legislature, they were forced to implement the law made by a “dictator” who did not even bother to consult the police or the public whether such orders are feasible enforceable.

The Sheriff then urged New Yorkers to listen to the advice from their public health officials. They also continued to remind the public to limit their exposure by staying at home as much as they can. The statement concluded that at the end of the day, the people have their individual responsibility to keep their families safe and trust the public to make the right choices.

Law enforcement authorities are not the only ones who were turning against the Democrat’s draconian orders. Recently local business owners are also stepping up against forced closure. On Tuesday, a U.S. military veteran and gym owner, Robby Dinero, ripped a $15,000 fine in front of public health officials.

Dinero was apprehended after he held an after-hour protest along with close to a hundred business owners. He argued that Cuomo’s health restrictions had gone too far and chanted that they would not comply with his rules.

He explained that while Cuomo is forcing businesses to close down, they pay for his $225,000 salary. He then proceeded to rip the ticket that the local health officials had issued.
