Michigan Governor Whitmer has just been nominated to be Time Magazine’s Person of the year. The magazine published the list of this year’s nominee for the prestigious distinction, and the controversial official is included in the list. The list consists of other big names from the left, including:

  • Black Lives Matter activists
  • Nancy Pelosi
  • Bernie Sanders
  • AOC
  • Joe Biden
  • Failed Georgia gubernatorial candidate Stacey Abrams

Whitmer has faced a lot of criticisms over how she is handling the pandemic in her state. She has imposed strict lockdowns in Michigan, which has decimated the small businesses there. She also shares the distinction of being the only state-level official on the list and Governor Cuomo of New York, another controversial figure. Like Cuomo, Whitmer made the questionable decision of mixing those who tested positive for the virus with nursing home patients. The decision makes no sense since it is already known that the elderly are very much at risk of getting seriously ill if they get infected with the Wuhan virus. That order had the expected effect of seeing infections in nursing homes rise.

Sen. Peter Lucido said that he would prosecute Whitmer over the deaths if he gets elected as Macomb County prosecutor. “If we have the information that supports a conviction, which means I can look down at the data, which is not there, the science, which is not there, and have doctors come to testify to support that the medical decisions that were made here were made unilaterally by one person only—Gretchen Whitmer—you’re damn right he’s going to get charged because she deserves to own up to those deaths in those nursing homes,” Lucido said.

Whitmer has also imposed strict lockdown restrictions on residents of Michigan, which have been opposed by a lot of people. The Michigan Supreme Court has ruled against Whitmer’s lockdown restrictions, but she has ignored the ruling and has gone ahead and imposed them on the whole state anyway.

The left and the mainstream media is singing Whitmer praises. They are celebrating her because of her stance against President Donald Trump. It does not matter to them if her moves are violating the rights of many Americans.
