Pennsylvania Outlaws Liquor Sales During Thanksgiving
In a move that should be alarming to all freedom-loving Americans, the state of Pennsylvania has ordered the sale of alcohol in bars and restaurants starting at 5 p.m. Wednesday night and ending at 8 a.m. Thursday morning. Democrat governor Tom Wolf gave the order without the authorization of the state legislature.
“The biggest day for drinking is the Wednesday before Thanksgiving. I don’t like addressing that any more than anyone else does, but it’s a fact,” Wolf explained. “When people get together in that situation, it leads to an increase in the exchange of the fluids that leads to increased infection.” He’s claiming that the move is another measure of fighting the spread of the coronavirus.
Critics of the order have pointed out that such a move will not decrease alcohol consumption. In fact, it will likely have the opposite effect, just like what Prohibition had back in the 1930s. People will be drinking more now because the ban gives drinking alcoholic beverages the allure of something forbidden. The only sure effect that the ban will have is to make things harder for the small restaurants and bars in the state that are already suffering from Wolf’s policies.
One of the people driving Wolf’s policies when it comes to the coronavirus response is Dr. Rachel Levine, a biological man who “identifies” as a woman. Wolf appointed him to be the secretary of health of the state of Pennsylvania. During the time of the pandemic, Levine has been given tremendous power over the lives of the residents of the state, and he loves to demonstrate it.
“Law enforcement and state agencies will be stepping up enforcement efforts, issuing citations and fines, and possible regulatory actions for repeat offenders,” Levine threatened regarding the liquor ban.
The ban on the sales of liquor is not the only insane policy issued by Levine. He has also made working from home mandatory; he has also limited the occupancy limits for indoor events to 105 and 15% for outdoor events, although that is not enforced when people are out rioting and looting.
