Cuomo’s Out of State Daughter Will Not Come Home for Christmas to Keep NY Families Safe
In a social media post, Democratic New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo announced that as a part of the state’s aggressive social distancing plans, his daughter, living outside of the state, might skip Thanksgiving dinner.
In his tweet, Cuomo wrote, “My daughter isn’t coming to Thanksgiving.” He then explained that she is living outside of the state and was advised it would be safer for her not to come home. In a huge act of sacrifice, Cuomo wrote, “I’m making the tough choice to keep you & our family safe.”
My daughter isn't coming to Thanksgiving. She is out of state and it’s safer not to travel.

It's hard. But I can’t think of a better gesture of love than to say, I'm making the tough choice to keep you & our family safe.
We may be physically apart but we’re spiritually together

The Governor’s statement came after they urged New York residents to change their Holiday plans to refrain from holding large Thanksgiving gatherings. Cuomo also urged residents to avoid close contact except with their immediate household members. He stated that while most Americans consider their family as their “safe zones,” it might not hold true anymore and would only add potential dangers to other family members. He believed that if they truly care and love someone, they would know that it would be best to stay away.
Aside from encouraging local residents to refrain from attending large gatherings, Cuomo also implemented drastic coronavirus measures among businesses. Just this month, Cuomo had required gyms, bars, and restaurants to close by 10 p.m, while social gatherings should only be limited to 10 people. In addition, the Governor had also divided the state into various red and orange zones. Based on their new policy, areas under the “red zone” prohibit residents from holding any “non-essential gatherings.” Worse, businesses are under the said category, such as Brooklyn and Queens would have to shut down as the cases continued to rise.
However, local business owners are pushing back against Democrat’s draconian health policies. On Tuesday, New York business owners had a tense encounter against the Sheriff’s deputies after the authorities tried to enforce Cuomo’s health restrictions. The encounter took place at Athletes Unleashed, a private gym in Orchard Park where a hundred more or so business owners have gathered.

According to the report, the business-owners met to help one another think and provide possible solutions against the Governor’s strict orders. Unfortunately, the meeting was cut short after authorities barged in. The owners demanded officers present a warrant since they are on private property. “Some of these people actually work for their money, and they don’t want to lose their livelihood,” one of the owners said.
While Cuomo praised himself for sacrificing a dinner with his daughter, thousands of seniors have lost their lives as a result of his nursing home scandal. According to reports. Cuomo reportedly allowed more than 6,000 COVID-19 positive patients into senior homes, which in turn infected thousands of at-risk patients.
Other Democrats, such as California Gov. Andrew Newsom, also received a major backlash after he was caught having a fancy dinner at a friend’s birthday party. This contradicted his advice to discourage Californians from going out and dine. Worse, Cuomo allowed the entertainment industry to remain open while other small, local businesses had to shut down.
