On Sunday, former Vice President and Democratic nominee, Joe Biden, mistakenly called himself a “grandmom” during a rally in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

During the rally, Biden took the opportunity to introduce his granddaughter Finnigan, “And I am Finnigan Biden’s grandmom.” Upon realizing his mistake, Biden pointed out to his wife, Jill. “That’s her grandmom, and I’m her grandpop,” as the nominee tried to correct himself.

Watch:

Biden also mistook his own state, the Delaware Blue Hens, on his jacket for the Philadelphia Eagles. In the campaign, the nominee boasted that he is proud to have the moniker as “Philideplhpia’s third senator” specifically because his wife, Jill, came from Philly. Then, Biden looked down on his jacket and boasted that he was wearing the state’s football logo, “And I’ve got my Eagles jacket on.”

Besides Biden’s recent gaffes in Philadelphia, media reports also swirled around the reason behind Biden’s last-minute stop in Pittsburg. The nominee’s campaign team announced that they would close down the campaign with a last-ditch effort in hopes to swing voters in Pennsylvania. This is especially crucial since Biden only enjoyed a narrow gap behind Trump in the recent election polls. The campaign team also announced that Biden would hold a drive-in rally on Monday with Lady Gaga as his special guest.

According to a Breitbart News report, the nominee decided to make an emergency stop on the eve of election night after he lost a major endorsement to President Donald Trump. The major endorsement came from the region’s largest publication, the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette. According to the newspaper’s editorial team, they recognized that while Trump might not be the perfect candidate, they believed that he had accomplished enough to prove that he deserved another four years at the White House. The editorial board specifically cited Trump’s strong economic policies, including his support for domestic manufacturing and his efforts to provide fairer trading practices won their support.

The Post Gazette argued that until Trump’s administration, no U.S president had asked the American people whether they approve of shipping their jobs abroad. What made the endorsement extremely surprising is the fact that it is the first time since 1972 that the newspaper’s editorial board had endorsed a Republican nominee. The media outlet also explained the reason why they have decided to snub Biden.

The editorial stated that while the nominee had repeatedly identified himself as a moderate, the political tension and growing radical movement within the Democratic party had moved him further left. Moreover, the board noted that his running mate, Sen Kamala Harris did little to boost his campaign. In fact, the Post Gazette believed that Harris, who was considered as one of the most liberal U.S politicians, made Biden even more out of touch with Pennsylvania’s political mainstream.

The editorial team added that their liberal policies would do more harm than good to the American people, including higher taxes, a promise to close down on fracking industries, and other “Cuckoo California dreams”’ that would ultimately cost the nation’s economy. The media outlet finally concluded that “‘Good-paying green jobs’” are not what the state needs.

On Saturday, Biden also made another blunder. While referring to former President Obama’s Affordable Health Care Act, he suffered another stutter as he slurred the words “badakathcare.” The nominee said , “Donald Trump thinks healthcare is a privilege, Barack and I think it’s a right to have badakathcare.”
