Left-wing Hollywood elitist Bette Midler made fun of First Lady Melania Trump on the second night of the Republican National Convention, where she delivered a speech. Midler made live commentaries of the speech through Twitter. As the First Lady started her speech, she tweeted, “#beBest is back! A UGE bore! She can speak several words in a few languages. Get that illegal alien off the stage!”

Not satisfied with what she has posted, she followed it up with an even more controversial one. “Oh, God. She still can’t speak English.” Her tweets caused a great deal of uproar and were condemned by people from both the left and the right. Many of them point out that the First Lady actually speaks five languages. Like many immigrants, the First Lady just had to learn English and so having an accent is inevitable.

A lot of people responded to her tweets. Dana Loesch pointed out that Midler could only speak one language. “Xenophobe who speaks one language mocks immigrants who can speak five.”

Actor James Woods condemned the Democrat party for their bigotry. “The party of diversity mocks an American for her accent…”

Brandon Morse, the editor of the Red State contrasted Trump’s message and Midler’s comment. He tweeted: “An immigrant woman, who doesn’t have English as her first language, just got up on a stage and was so gracious that she refused to attack classless people like you and instead focused on hope and positivity. I’ll take her accent over your ghoulishness any day.”

Businesswoman Lisa Song Sutton has this to say on Twitter, “My Mother and many immigrants to this country have an accent due to English being their second, third, fourth language… @BetteMidler = xenophobe.”

Despite the deluge of criticism for her tweets, it seems that Midler is standing by her xenophobic posts as she has not taken down. It will not be surprising if she doubles down on her message since that is the usual practice of leftists when called out for their hypocritical behavior. Midler is not a stranger for being accused of bigotry. She has accused black men who attended trump rallies before of being paid and calling them “blackground”. She did not suffer any consequence for her racist statement because she is part of the Hollywood elite.
