Joe Biden had another meltdown this week when he had a virtual fundraiser with Tom Hanks on Tuesday. The former vice president was unable to remember that he was first inaugurated into the second-highest office in the United States back in 2009. The fundraiser was part of the Democratic National Convention this week. Biden was explaining to Hanks how he was inaugurated as vice president after 40 years of work as a public defender.

“I quit, I became a public defender. And I used to have to interview my clients down by the train station…and 40 years later to the month, January of 2018, I found myself in a circumstance where, I mean 2012, I find myself standing in the same spot I was standing 40 years earlier,” he said.

“And I was waiting for a black man, Tom, to come and pick me up from Philadelphia. A guy named Barack Obama. On 17th January, to take me to Washington, a trip I’ve made a thousand of times commuting every day, to be sworn in as president and vice president,” Biden said.

He was inaugurated twice but not in 2012 or 2018. He was sworn in as vice president in 2009 and 2013. Hanks just nodded along as Biden rambled on and misremembered the crucial years in his career as a politician.

But that episode is mild compared to the other moments when Biden seemed to forget where he is or who he is. One time he referred to himself as “Joe Biden’s husband.” But no matter how embarrassing his gaffes are, the mainstream media tends to overlook all of them. They don’t even report the incidents anymore. That’s just one more proof that the mainstream media is helping to shield Biden. When they interview Biden, they don’t ask him any difficult questions at all.

Compare that with how they interact with President Trump, which is very combative. Leftists were also trying to bring down the President by saying that he has cognitive decline, but now they’re just not mentioning any of Biden’s gaffes.
