It seems that former Vice President and Presumptive Democratic nominee, Joe Biden’s basement campaign is not going all too well as President Donald Trump narrows the poll.

Left-wing media CNN’s recent polls timing couldn’t get any better, especially since the Democratic party is gearing towards giving Biden the official nomination later this week. The poll which was released on Sunday revealed that Biden received 50 percent of the vote, while Trump had 46 percent. The four-point advantage was a far cry from a whopping 14-point lead that the Democrat had early in June.

The poll, which was conducted between August 12-15 by the SSRS through cell phone and landline, covered a total of 1,108, with 987 registered voters. What’s especially concerning for Biden is that the lead became narrower in key battleground states such as Nevada, New Hampshire, New Mexico, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Texas, Wisconsin, Arizona, Florida, Georgia, Iowa, Maine, Michigan, and Minnesota.

What’s even more interesting is that among the 15 swing states, 49 percent of the voters responded that they would vote for the Democratic ticket, while 48 percent responded that they would vote for Trump. When it comes to favorable ratings, both also had a close rating, with Trump having a two-point lead in unfavorability ratings. However, both Biden and the President received a 45 percent approval rating.

In addition, Trump was able to convince skeptical Republican voters as Biden received 4 percent from the support from right-leaning voters, which was cut in half when he received an 8 percent support in June. The President was also able to have a boost from the Republican Party, jumping from 76 percent in June to 85 percent.

In an article, CNN’s polling director Jennifer Agiesta believed that Trump was able to regain the demographics that he was losing before. To cite this, Agiesta noted that the poll is mostly concentrated on three key areas, one is with gender in which indicated that most of the polls were men. While Trump and Biden split evenly in the previous poll, Trump gained a 15 point advantage leading with 56 percent against Biden’s 40 percent.

In terms of age, most of the pollsters were between 34 to 64 years old. Back in June, they supported Biden, but now, they are leaning towards the President. With the independents, Biden went from 52 percent to 46 percent. On the other hand, Trump gained from 41 percent in June to 45 percent today.

Analysts believed that Biden’s polls would continue to drop, especially since he had just recently announced his running mate, Sen. Kamala Harris. Pollsters often believed that an introduction of a Vice President usually leads to an uptick in the polls.
