Failed Democratic nominee and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton expressed her concern that President Donald Trump would not “go quietly” if he fails to win the upcoming presidential election, adding that “we have to be ready.”

During her appearance for Comedy Central’s “The Daily Show,” host Trevor Noah suggested that the country is on an “ominous” path leading to the upcoming elections. Noah explained that he felt that as Election Day comes closer, there will be more questions that will be asked. He then turned to ask Clinton on why she thinks that President Donald Trump would prevent people from having the “easiest access” to cast their votes through mail-in voting.

Clinton responded with a conspiracy theory. She believed that Republicans have a “two prongs” strategy that would lead them to win the elections. She added that one of the strategies is to prevent as many people as possible from casting their votes. She added that a good way to implement such a strategy is to create long lines for young people and people of color to discourage them from voting.

She continued that Trump and his administration also wanted it to make it difficult for people to vote by preventing a nationwide mail-in vote system. The failed Democratic nominee also believed that Trump had spread false information that a mail-in voting system would be “fraudulent.” In fact, she claimed that people who have read about vote-by-mail knew that it is perfectly safe.

Noah then asked Clinton whether she thinks that the integrity of the votes is at stake due to voter fraud. Clinton replied that she thinks it is a legitimate cause for concern. However, she believed that the public should worry if Trump would lose the 2020 general elections, “if he loses, he’s going to go quietly or not. And we have to be ready for that.” She went on to say that, like the rest of Americans, she wanted to have a “fair election.” Clinton continued that whatever the results were, she was willing to accept it, “they, for whatever reason, vote for Donald Trump, OK, we’ll accept it. Not happily.”
However, the former Secretary of State believed that Trump’s win is an unlikely scenario. Clinton concluded that the more people could visit the polls or have access to voting, they would have the election they wanted. Finally, she said that in November 2020, the Democrats would win, both by popular vote and by the Electoral College.

On Monday, former U.S. President Barack Obama also criticized Trump over his concerns that a mail-in vote system would result in widespread fraud. In a social media post, Obama lambasted Trump saying that a vote-in mail system should never be a “partisan issue,” especially since the country is going through a pandemic. He added that anyone should be able to “request an absentee ballot.” However, even Obama himself acknowledged that voter fraud exists by linking an article from National Public Radio, which claims that corruption happens in a “minuscule amount” and should not be considered as “statistically meaningful.”

To illustrate how susceptible a nationwide mail-in voting system is to voter fraud and corruption, a recent report from The Patriot Hill cites that Cody, a cat from Atlanta, received a voter registration form. To make matters worse, Cody had been dead for 12 years. The bizarre incident had left its owner, Carol Tims, confused. She questioned how it is possible that a long-deceased cat was sent the voter registration form, and whether pets, such as dogs, mice, and snakes can be registered.
