Leftist rock and roll singer Neil Young criticized President Donald Trump on Friday for playing his song at the Mount Rushmore celebration right before his speech.

“I stand in solidarity with the Lakota Sioux & this is NOT ok with me,” Young said on Twitter in response to a tweet that featured a video in which his song was playing right before the event. Young is saying the same kind of rhetoric that the mainstream media and other leftists are using to attack the Independence Day Celebrations and the Mount Rushmore Monument. The New York Times for example supported the protestors who have been calling for the destruction of the national monument. The paper claimed that the monument was built on land that was stolen from a Native American tribe by a man who has ties to the Ku Klux Klan. They also reminded their readers that it honors two presidents who were also slave owners.

Not to be left behind, CNN claimed that the monument has a “dark history.” It sided with the leftist rioters who have been destroying monuments and statues all over the country. That kind of reporting just highlights the hypocrisy of the mainstream media. Back when Barack or Bernie Sanders visited Mount Rushmore, they called the monument majestic. There was no mention of the fact that two of the presidents represented there are slave owners . Now that Trump is the one visiting the monument, they are saying negative things about Mount Rushmore.

Young joins the mainstream media in its attack on President Trump. The old singer has long been known for complaining about Trump. This year he has accused President Trump of being a disgrace to America and he has regularly complained about his songs being used in Trump’s rallies. Looks like the aging rocker will just have to live with the fact that his songs will be used by the President.
