On Sunday, in an appearance on ABC’s This Week, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi said that a nationwide requirement to wear face masks is “long overdue.”

The wearing of face masks is an attempt to control and mitigate the spread of the Chinese coronavirus. It has been a highly debated issue with Democrats tending to be in favor of mandatory masking and many Republicans taking the other side, believing that such rule is an “unenforceable governmental overreach.”

ABC anchor George Stephanopoulos asked Pelosi if it was time to “mandate the wearing of masks” across the United States to which the House Speaker answered, “Oh, it’s definitely long overdue for that.” Then she added, “my understanding is that the Centers for Disease Control has recommended the use of masks but not required it because they don’t want to offend the president.”

Known as a vocal Trump critic, Pelosi continued to say that President Donald Trump should be an example. “You know, real men wear masks. Be an example to the country and wear the mask, it’s not about protecting yourself it’s about protecting others and their families.”

Quick to call out President Trump about wearing masks when Pelosi herself has not been a very good example to her Democrats, as she was seen “barely” wearing a mask when out in public.

Remember when Pelosi forgot all about basic hygiene and wiped her dripping nose with her bare hand and touched the same podium other people would also use after her. Talk about “controlling” the virus.

Watch:

On Thursday, former vice president and now Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden floated the idea of issuing an executive order requiring all Americans to wear masks to mitigate the spread of the Wuhan virus.

“The one thing we do know is these masks make a gigantic difference. I would insist that everybody out in public be wearing that mask. Anyone to reopen would have to make sure that they walked into a business that had masks,” Biden claimed.

Sleepy Joe also continued to blame Trump for the uptick in the coronavirus cases in the United States back in May, saying that Trump wasn’t able to handle the virus properly.
