The glaring hypocrisy of left-wing Hollywood stars had become more evident on Sunday night, when comedian and staunch Trump critic, Chelsea Handler, posted a message from controversial figures and Nation of Islam leader Louis Farrakhan.

Farrakhan was known for his anti-white, anti-Semitic, racist, and homophobic rhetoric, and Handler didn’t see any problem. In her social media post, the comedian wrote, “I learned a lot from watching this powerful video.” She added an undated clip of Farrakhan promoting anti-white sentiments, as he continued to suggest that “white folk” are causing racial tension because of their fear and guilt that someday, black people will rise into positions of power.

Other celebrities chimed in and shared the content, such as Jessica Chastain and Jameela Jamil who posted the clip on Instagram. Other stars also liked Handler’s post, including Jennifer Aniston, Michelle Pfeiffer, and Jennifer Garner.

Both Jamil and Chastian have already deleted their shared post.

One social media pundit pointed out, “So, based on this logic, if you find a video of Hitler saying something positive and powerful, will you feel equally compelled to share it? You gave hate credibility and a large platform today.”

The comedian defended her statements by saying that “No, because Hitler was responsible for killing millions of lives. Farrakhan is just responsible for his own promotion of anti-Semitic beliefs. They are very different.” In another comment, Handler pointed out that the Jews in Farrakhan’s life were to blame for his anti-semitic sentiments. She then shared bizarre rhetoric that the controversial figure’s anti-semitic views were a result of “oppression.”

However, Hollywood’s hypocrisy did not end there. In fact, while celebrities announced their support for the Black lives Matter protests, they were not keen on having it in their own private and exclusive neighborhood.

In a recent statement, the City of Beverly Hills, home to celebrities and wealthy residents claimed that they would not allow any demonstrations to take place, due to increasing concerns of coronavirus infection. In fact, the posh neighborhood had banned the gathering of more than ten people on the “street, sidewalk,” and other public places.
