On Wednesday, two-time failed presidential candidate Hillary Clinton said that President Donald Trump tried to “hijack” Christianity when he recently went for a walk in Lafayette Park and stood outside St. John’s Episcopal Church holding a Bible.

During an interview with British network Sky News, Clinton claimed that there had been a pattern with the president, saying, “He’s tried to hijack Christianity and the Bible in ways that are deeply hypocritical, and that was just another occasion.”

Clinton looked back at the ongoing protests across the United States and said that the people protesting were “totally peaceful” and that Trump only tried to “mischaracterize them and their behavior and their goals.” According to the staunch Democrat and avid Trump critic, the president only lumped the peaceful protesters with the “tiny, tiny minority who took advantage of a tragic moment to loot and steal and vandalize.”

“There should be no tolerance for violent protest, and certainly that was not at the core of the literally millions of people who have come out to protest peacefully over the last several weeks,” Clinton added.

Over the past month, protests and riots have spread like wildfire across the nation, which resulted in establishments, neighborhoods, and historical monuments being robbed, vandalized, burned down, and thrashed. And earlier this month, after President Donald Trump addressed the issues regarding the rioters, he visited St. John’s Episcopal Church, which was set ablaze by the so-called “peaceful protesters” just the night before.

Democrats criticized the US Park Police for using tear gas against the “peaceful” protesters to clear the area to make way for the president. However, what the establishment media failed to disclose on the news is the fact that the protesters outside the White House were far from “peaceful.”

“At approximately 6:33 pm, violent protestors on H Street NW began throwing projectiles including bricks, frozen water bottles and caustic liquids. The protestors also climbed onto a historic building at the north end of Lafayette Park that was destroyed by arson days prior,” the US Park Police said in a statement. They also added that the officers found glass bottles, metal poles, and baseball bats hidden along the street.

The statement added: “As many of the protesters became more combative, continued to throw projectiles, and attempted to grab officers’ weapons, officers then employed the use of smoke canisters and pepper balls. Contrary to what the establishment media claimed and reported, no tear gas was used against the protesters despite their obvious violent approach to the police officers.
