Star Trek actor George Takei drew criticisms from gays and leftists after he tweeted about how defending biological sex is scientifically ignorant and is promoting transphobia. The tweet was in response to the statement made by J.K. Rowling that biological sex cannot be erased to promote transgender ideology. It seems that Takei wants to get some attention by joining in on the controversy.

“When you defend so-called “biological sex,” you sound scientifically ignorant and you elevate transphobia,” Takei said through a tweet.

He did succeed in getting attention as members of the LGBTQ community criticized his statement. Many of them took the side of Rowling saying that if there is no biological sex, then there could be no same-sex attraction. They also cited the tough times that many families are going through because their children are claiming that they do not want the biological sex that they are born with. Takei’s statement also delegitimizes the suffering that many who are not comfortable with their biological sex are going through.

One tweeter user told Takei that he was throwing females and his fellow homosexuals under the bus with his statement. Another tweet user claimed that he was born a biological female and that he transitioned to become a man 25 years ago. “I am and will forever be a biological female. How is this so hard to understand. If I was not a biological female them I would not be transsexual. Its dangerous to discount biology.”

Many of the responders to Takei’s tweet are defending Rowling, who has received a great deal of criticism herself for her statement. She has been criticized by woke Hollywood celebrities who seem to jump on the first controversy that they can weigh in.
