On Saturday, Black Lives Matter Activists and members of the LGBTQ community twerked in front of the police as a form of protest in Washington DC.

Initially, the activists marched and gathered outside of Democrat DC Mayor Muriel Bowser. During the protest, demonstrators danced, held signs, and chanted phrases such as “fuck 12” to “Black Lives Matter,” to “no justice, no peace, no racist police.” On the other end, a line of police officers stood by at the sidewalks, ready to confront the crowd.

The officers remained calm, as the protesters carried banners carrying accusations against the police department such as “Defund MPD,” “No Pride in Police Violence,” and “Decriminalize Sex Work.” Then, the protesters turned up the music and twerked as the crowd cheered on.

Unsurprisingly, Bowser continued to side with the left-wing agenda and supported the protests. In fact, she even claimed that the “Black lives Matter” graffiti, which was painted on the 16th Street NW leading to the White House, was a “piece of art.”

In a recent interview for ABC’s “This Week,” Bowser boasted about the mural, which was commissioned by the Department Works and Highway. “It is an affirmative piece of art, a centering piece of art where people from around the globe have called us and thanked us for acknowledging black humanity and black lives,” the DC mayor claimed.

However, the Mayor’s excitement was short-lived as demonstrators painted over Bowser’s BLM mural at the City Plaza with words “defund the police.” This marks the increasing pressure on Bowser and the rest of the Democratic politicians to cut off their funding for law enforcement and to support protesters.

For a fourth consecutive week, demonstrators continued to trickle in Washington DC over the death of 46-year-old George Floyd from the police custody. However, the number of protesters has diminished over the past few days.

Just last week, members of the Black Lives Matter organizers had hoped to draw in millions of demonstrators. Unfortunately, the number fell short. According to a report from Fox News, a law enforcement official claimed that only an estimated 20,000 people came to DC. As Washington geared in for the influx of protesters, even President Donald Trump sighed a relief as the crowd was way smaller than what was initially expected.

On Monday, the Washington Post reported that as much as 400 demonstrators were arrested for curfew violations and burglary.
