CNN Crew Attacked Outside Wendy's In Atlanta As Rioters Burned It
A CNN crew was attacked outside a Wendy’s joint in Atlanta, Georgia, where 27-year-old Rayshard Brooks was killed in a police confrontation on Friday evening.
Brooks, who was killed, has reportedly resisted arrest, seized a police officer’s taser, and attempted to run away before being shot three times.
Following his death, more chaos broke out in the city, with several groups gathering and causing unrest. One group set the Wendy’s Atlanta on fire, where CNN was planning to cover. CNN’s Natasha Chen recalled the night, saying, “There were protesters very angry that we were recording this, and tried to block our cameras … and at that point they got aggressive, and our CNN camera was broken.” Chen then tried to film using her smartphone but the rioters also stopped her, so she and her crew left the scene.

In the early days of the nationwide protests, CNN’s Atlanta headquarters was attacked and vandalized by these so-called “protesters.” Mainstream establishment media like CNN have described the riots in the past weeks as “mostly peaceful,” even though other reports and footage show that it was far from being peaceful. Business and neighborhood have been robbed and burned down, innocent people, and media persons doing their jobs have been attacked, including Breitbart News, Fox News, MSNBC, and now even CNN. However, CNN and similar left-wing networks still try to downplay these attacks and address the damages these “rioters” have been causing.
Earlier this month, Wendy’s joined the Black Lives Matter movement and pledged to donate $500,000 to help the blaack community and help “amplify Black voices” before being targeted and burned down by rioters in Atlanta on Saturday night.
Our employees and customers have spoken loud and clear. We know we have a lot more to do than a donation. We’re committed to doing the work and we hear you.

In the coming days, we’ll be using our Twitter account to amplify Black voices. Because what’s the point of this big platform if we don’t use it for what matters during times like these?

The fast-food giant tweeted, “Our voice would be nothing without Black culture. Right now, a lot of people are hurting because of blatant racism against Black people.”
Our voice would be nothing without Black culture. Right now, a lot of people are hurting because of blatant racism against Black people. Their voices need to be heard. Period. #BlackLivesMatter
