Failed presidential candidate Cory Booker became emotional during an interview for the CBS talk show “The Late Show,” as he shared his fear of the police when he was a child. The host Stephen Colbert asked him his reaction to the show of force that was happening in Washington D.C. as a response to the rioting that has been happening. Booker said that he was afraid to dress down and put on shorts and a T-shirt so he could walk home because he’s afraid as to what the police might do to him.

He then told of his experiences when he was a young man when allegedly, police officers had weapons pointed at him. Acting like he was holding back tears, Booker then related the recent stories that showed the apparent racism in America from the Ahmaud Arbery case to the George Floyd killing.

Booker added that “decades have passed, and we haven’t put this nation to a point where you have kids in our streets again like I was in my 20s who are really questioning this nation and wondering if a country that has spent generations in search of itself, the values I would die for, liberty and justice for all, equality under the law, we are still in search of making those real.”

As expected, Booker is taking the opportunity of the widespread protests against the killing of George Floyd to gain some time in the limelight. It will be remembered that Booker failed miserably in his bid to become the Democratic party nominee for the presidency and he ended up endorsing Joe Biden, who has a questionable past in regards to his past policies towards the African American community.

Now, Booker is also drafting a law that would dox “bad” police officers across the country. The bill that he is drafting will create a national registry of police officers with a history of misconduct. The list will then be used to identify any police officer and stop them from doing further harm. Unfortunately, the list can also be used for singling out and harassing police officers who have had complaints because they were doing their duty.

The move is just another of the anti-police measures being pushed by the Democrats and the left. There are even calls now for completely defunding the police which would leave the law-abiding citizens at the mercy of criminal elements.
