According to reports from law enforcement, Decmoract, and NYC Mayor Bill De Blasio’s daughter, Chiara, was arrested amidst a Manhattan protest on Sunday.

The Mayor’s daughter was taken into custody around 10:30 p.m after New York city cops announced that there was an unlawful assembly at 12th street and Broadway in Lower Manhattan. The area was considered a hotspot, as protesters gathered to burn down police cars and threw objects, such as glass bottles and rocks at the police officers.

Chiara, 25, was allegedly blocking the traffic and was later arrested along with 345 George Floyd protesters for refusing to cooperate with the cops. At the station, she wrote down her residence at the East End Avenue or otherwise known as the Mayor’s Gracie Mansion, although she did not tell the officers that she was De Blasio’s daughter.

The Mayor’s daughter was caught an hour before de Blasio made the announcement at the NYC Emergency Management headquarters in Downtown Brooklyn, “We appreciate and respect all peaceful protests, but now it is time for people to go home.” Contrary to Chiara’s involvement in the New York riot, the Mayor pleaded for a peaceful protest, “If you went out peacefully to make a point about the need for change, you have been heard, and change is coming in the city. I have no doubt about that.” He then asked the protester that “It’s time to go home so we can all move forward.”

That same day, the Mayor condemned the anarchists for promoting an “explicit agenda of violence.” De Blasio believed that the rioters had only traded in police brutality over destruction.

The NYC mayor described them as a small but well-organized group of people who had ties with the so-called “anarchist movement.” He also blamed the group for inciting violence and wreaking havoc in several cities. Moreover, De Blasio hinted that some of those who had looted and burned down buildings came outside of New York City.

The Mayor’s suggestions fit in well to National Security Adviser, Robert O’Brien claims that the people behind the violent riots were members of the anti-fascist group Antifa. In a media appearance for ABC News’ “This Week,” the security adviser believed that the anarchists have traveled at night and have used military-style tactics to burn down buildings. The city also has its own fair share of riots. In fact, the New York Times declared the burning of a police car as a symbol of unrest, with more than 47 police cruisers torched down by the angry mob of demonstrators.
