Left-wing activist and documentary filmmaker Michael Moore made another weird suggestion on Friday, when he declared through a tweet that the headquarters of the Minneapolis Police Department should be demolished as a kind of offering to the black people of America.

“Good citizens burning down the evil police precinct in MN after all police were out & safe. All police should go home. No violence please. Police HQ must be demolished by the city tomorrow as a show of contrition to black America. Rebuild PD with decent kind ppl aka ppl of color,” was the exact tweet that he sent out.

Moore sent out the tweet after protests erupted in Minneapolis over the death of George Floyd. On Thursday, protesters in Minneapolis set fire to the precinct near the area where Floyd was arrested by the police officers. Police officers responded to a call alleging that someone used a counterfeit bill for purchase at a nearby grocery store. The officers said that Floyd resisted arrest but videos of the incident showed that there was no resistance.

There was no one hurt in the burning of the police precinct as there were no police officers to confront the protesters since the mayor ordered them to evacuate the building. That made it easy for the rioters to destroy the building. The precinct was not the only building that was burned by the rioters but several establishments in the neighborhood as well.

President Trump condemned the lawlessness that is unfolding in Minneapolis which is fueling the protests in other parts of the country as well. He has also criticized the mayor’s handling of the situation.

The President sent out a controversial tweet regarding the looting. “These THUGS are dishonoring the memory of George Floyd, and I won’t let that happen. Just spoke to Governor Tim Walz and told him that the Military is with him all the way. Any difficulty and we will assume control but, when the looting starts, the shooting starts,” the President said in his post.
