Democratic Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer, who was known for her no-nonsense authoritarian regime, had been reportedly compelled to cover-up for her husband’s boating request fiasco.

Recently, the Michigan Governor made headlines after her husband, Dr. Marc Mallory, requested a special treatment to the boating company to cut off the line so he can sail his boat for Memorial Day. According to Whitmer’s aides, the Governor was “drawn” to cover-up for her husband’s actions.

On his Facebook post, Republican State Sen. Tom Barrett confirmed Mallory’s request to service his boat earlier than what was scheduled. Barrett wrote that based on his verified information, the Governor’s husband contacted a northern Michigan dock company, NorthShore Dock LLC.

Barret wrote that “But just as I was about to go to sleep around 11:00 p.m. I was contacted through the Governor’s office that they adamantly denied the situation,” he wrote. The State senator continued that he had received warnings to remove his post, “They went so far as to contact the Majority Leader’s Chief of Staff and specifically called to request that I remove my post.” In a report from the Detroit News, the company owner, Tad Dowker, narrated that he had received a call on Thursday morning while he was at the office. Dowker claimed that there was “a gentleman on hold who wanted his boat in the water before the weekend.” He explained that since it was a Memorial Day weekend, and due to the delays from Whitmer’s strict orders, there was no way that the man could be accommodated.

Dowker continued that their staff tried to say no, but Mallory responded, “I am the husband to the governor, will this make a difference?’” Despite his demands, the company claimed that the man was “respectful and understanding” when they declined.

Moreover, the State Senator stated that he had deleted his post with the hope that such rumors were “not true.” However, Barret put back his post stating that on Saturday evening, the Michigan dock company confirmed that the reports were accurate. He claimed that he was “drawn into a cover-up by the Governor and her staff,” Barrett wrote. Currently, Whitmer’s team has yet to confirm or deny the accusations.

This is not the first time that Whitmer has made headlines this week. Newly released emails showed that the Governor’s office gave the “green light” to award taxpayer’s money to a Democrat group as part of the state’s coronavirus tracing program.

In fact, reports had it that Michigan officials tried to avoid making a controversy by trying to shift the work to an organization that claimed to be “apolitical subsidiaries” owned by left-leaning firms. Based on the recently uncovered email, Andrea Taverna, a senior adviser in the Michigan Department of the Health and Human Services, wrote that they had already received a “green light” from Whitmer and hinted that they have to conduct a “different organizational arrangement.”
