CNN anchor Wolf Blitzer branded President Trump as a “chicken” for not taking questions from the press during the coronavirus task force press briefing. This is just the latest attack of the failing news organization against the President amid the greatest crisis that the country has faced in recent years. “The President clearly, shall we say, was chicken today. Didn’t want to answer questions that the reporters had prepared,” said Blitzer.

The President concluded the coronavirus press briefing on Friday without taking and answering any question from the reporters who were gathered in the White House. The President and his team of experts, who are dealing with the pandemic, delivered their information for the day and then concluded the meeting. The reporters started shouting questions to the President as he walked out of the room but he did not bother to answer them.

This was after the President suffered a worse than usual 24-hour coverage in the news after the mainstream media took his statements regarding ultraviolet light and disinfectant being used for treating the disease caused by the coronavirus—statements that were clearly not meant to be taken seriously and used those to criticize him. Before the briefing, the White House staff tried to rearrange the seating of the correspondents. They attempted to move CNN, which is the main purveyor of fake news against President Trump to the back, but the reporters refused to cooperate. Changing the seating arrangement of the reporters is well within the right of the White House staff.

The mainstream media has been nothing but critical of all the moves of the President when it comes to fighting the effect of the pandemic in the country. When he imposed travel bans to limit the number of infected people coming into the country, they branded him as racist. After the pandemic has spread in the United States and it started taking its toll, they said that he should have been more strict when it comes to travel restrictions. When the President engages with reporters and he answers them in his usual direct manner, they criticize him, and now that he refused to engage with them, they feign outrage and call him names.
