Music Icon Rhianna: “I’m Trying to Save the World, Unlike Y’all President”
The world’s wealthiest female musician, and the woman behind the million-dollar Fenty Beauty, Rihanna slapped back on President Donald Trump.
According to celebrity news media, E! News, the popstar jabbed on Trump’s seeming “failure” to handle the coronavirus crisis.
Rihanna’s statement came after a fan asked when her new album would be released. The Umbrella singer savagely replied that “If one of y’all motherf***ers ask me about the album one more time when I’m trying to save the world, unlike y’all president, [we will fight] on sight.”
However, what Rihanna forgot was to share how exactly she had contributed to coronavirus efforts. Before the outbreak, the singer said that she might release an album in 2019, although she did not mention any release dates.
This is not the first time that Rihanna bashed the president. Just last year, the singer described Trump as the “most mentally ill human being in America.” In an interview with Vogue, the pop star said that gun rights should not be normal. She even went on to say that gun rights activists are downright racists, for treating people differently based on their skin color.
In fact, Rhianna claimed that there was no way Trump would let an Arab man hold a gun on Walmart, versus a white man doing the same thing. That same year, Rihanna also called out the president for misspelling terrorism in her Instagram post.
On the other hand, while the number of confirmed COVID-19 patients went up by 5.6% or approximately 572,169, on Monday afternoon, the numbers were lower as compared to the 7.4% average increase in the past week.
In fact, New York, the epicenter of the country’s coronavirus outbreak, reported a 3.3% increase. According to data by John Hopkins University, that percentage was less than half of what it was a week ago.
Even Dr. Anthony Fauci, director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, and the leading figure of Trump’s coronavirus task force, believed that the country might be experiencing an earlier turnaround. However, both Trump and Fauci still urged Americans to practice caution and observe health guidelines, such as social distancing.
Moreover, collectively, the country was also able to provide extensive 140,000 tests in the past seven days. As the numbers were starting to look up, the president is set to address another problem in the country’s economy. While Trump’s plans to open the country by Easter did not materialize, the president still hopes that the economy should re-open at the end of April.
While Democrats urged governors to defy Trump’s orders, the president reminded the public that the “the authority is total,” and that he should be the one who makes the decision on when to re-open the economy.
