Agreeing with other Democrats, former President Barack Obama thinks the United States should create a vote-by-mail option for the upcoming presidential election. Obama took to Twitter to let his followers know :

“Let’s not use the tragedy of a pandemic to compromise our democracy. Check the facts of vote by mail.”

As a supporting reference for his argument Obama cited a NYT story to explain how vote-by-mail could only be a good thing. In a surprising discovery, Amelia Showalter and Brian Dunn (both former Obama campaign employees) were in favor of vote-by-mail.

“Everyone should have the right to vote safely, and we have the power to make that happen,” Obama tweeted. “This shouldn’t be a partisan issue.”

Barack was extremely disparaging about the election held, in the face of fears about coronavirus spreading, in Wisconsin this week.

According to Obama, “No one should be forced to choose between their right to vote and their right to stay healthy like the debacle in Wisconsin this week.” Along with Nancy Pelosi and Hillary Clinton, Obama is championing vote by mail for Americans. All three claiming with the coronavirus crisis crippling the nation, now is a great time to implement the system. Citing the unavoidable fraud that would occur, President Trump has been firmly against the idea of voting by mail.

“I think a lot of people cheat with mail-in voting,” Trump said last Friday. “I think people should vote with ID, with Voter ID.”
