While the deadly coronavirus had affected more than 1.5 million people and claimed more than 88,000 lives, Hollywood stars remained tone-deaf, as they were busy trying to pull attention to themselves, sometimes, in the most annoying and even disgusting ways.

One such star is talk show host, Ellen DeGeneres, who received massive backlash on social media after stating that her spacious LA mansion was like “jail.” Indeed, DeGeneres’ home, which boasts five bedrooms and 12 bathrooms, was still not enough to keep the privileged star preoccupied.

The video began with the 62-year-old host explaining why she had filmed an episode of her famous talk show in the comfort of her living room. “As it has the best light and sound and all the other rooms in my house are filled with toilet paper,” DeGeneres joked.

At first, she tried to talk about the good sides that the stay-at-home order has brought in, such as being able to spend more time with her wife, Portia De Rossi. She even went on to thank essential workers for battling on the frontlines of the coronavirus pandemic. Then, DeGeneres shared that what made her decide to shoot an episode was that she wanted to take off people’s minds from their worries and to make them happy.

However, DeGeneres could not help but compare her situation to imprisonment.“This is like being in jail,” the host lamented. She then claimed that it was because she was wearing the same clothes for ten days in a row.

Social media pundits were quick to slam DeGeneres’ tone-deaf comments. One Twitter user expressed her disgust over the host’s description.

While another highlighted the glaring disparity.

Another user referred to the previous allegations about DeGeneres treating her staff poorly.

Finally, another user slammed the host and her privilege.

This is not the first time that DeGeneres showed her hunger for attention. In fact, in the past few weeks, the host made a habit of calling other celebrities to ask how they were doing, including couple John Legend, and Chrissy Teigan, and former First Lady Michelle Obama.

However, the host is not the only celebrity having a meltdown. Another spoiled Hollywood star, Naomi Watts, also took to social media to go on a quarantine day rampage. On Wednesday, Watts posted an Instagram video of her screaming with a Godzilla-like roar over her domestic frustrations. “Quarantine Day #756: When your printer, vacuum cleaner and dishwasher all break in the same day…. #ffs,” the actress wrote.

Indeed, stars have annoyingly used social media to share the minuscule details of their lives. For example, Actor Sam Neil also went on to social media to announce that he had just washed his shoes.

Despite the recent news that New York might be possibly experiencing a turnaround, President Donald Trump, along with Vice President Mike Pence and Dr. Anthony Fauci, continued to urge Americans to remain cautious and observe stay at home orders.
