While the country continues to struggle with the global health crisis, the threat of the COVID-19 virus did little to stop the Democratic party’s goal to push for election. However, experts fear that their suggestion to hold a vote-by-mail system will only make the ballots susceptible to fraud and corruption.

In an exclusive interview with Breitbart News, Government Accountability Institute (GAI) research director Eric Eggers, believed that the vote-by-mail system would send in 24 million ballots to ineligible American voters. According to Eggers, Pelosi and the rest of the Democratic party’s attempt to include funds for vote-by-mail in the recent stimulus package will only bring “massive problems” for American voters.

“So, how are we going to be mailing ballots to people that authentically don’t exist and or are ineligible voters?” the GAI director asked. To support this claim, based on the 2012 findings from the Pew Research Center, a whopping 24 million ineligible voters were included on state voter rolls. The numbers meant that 1 in every 8 registrations was no longer valid.

Citing the study, Eggers claimed that millions of ballots would go to people who are no longer residing in the area, have double registered, and even those that were dead. Eggers continued, that by allowing a national mail-in vote system would translate to the legalization of “ballot harvesting.” Such practice allows unofficial third-party operatives, such as volunteers or workers, to collect and deliver numerous absentee ballots from voters.

“You’ve got these paid political machines whose job it is to manipulate or to capitalize on those errors,” Eggers stated. From a health and safety standpoint, Eggers claimed that it would not help to mitigate the spread of the virus either. He explained that while voters would not need to flock to crowded voting centers, they are also allowing “young potentially asymptomatic carriers” to come in contact with those who are susceptible to the virus, such as the elderly.

Republican National Committee Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel also echoed Eggers’s sentiment. In an editorial column for Fox News, McDaniel lashed out on the opposition’s goal to implement mail-in voting. The chairwoman voiced her concern stating that it is the Democratic Party’s “next attempt to use the pandemic for political gain.”

McDaniel also wrote that Pelosi’s attempt would only increase the opportunity for fraud, and even question the very integrity of American elections. Just like Eggers, McDaniel believed that a national vote-by-mail system would only be used as a “ruse” to implement a much bigger problem, which is ballot harvesting. She explained that the practice would enable “anyone” to “return an unlimited number of absentee ballots.” McDaniel even claimed that these workers might be paid based on the number of ballots that they have collected.

Currently, there are 3 million people who are registered in more than one state. For example, Illinois already had 580 ineligible voters during the 2018 presidential elections.
