Actor and Seinfeld co-creator Larry David believed that the “worst dictators in history” have better redeeming qualities as compared to US President Donald Trump.

In a statement from the left-wing media outlet, the New York Times, the actor claimed that what was truly amazing about Trump is that he has “has not one redeeming quality.” David, who spoke to NYT’s Maureen Dowd claimed that even the most tyrannical leaders in the past have one “decent quality” in them. He even went on to compare the Russian dictator Joseph Stalin to Trump, saying that the Russian dictator might have at least a decent quality that people might not have known.

David’s statements came as a response to Dowd’s question about Trump’s controversial tweet. In the said post, Trump shared a clip from the TV series Curb Your Enthusiasm, in which a MAGA supporter, played by David, used the red hat as a “people repellant.” The president captioned the post, “Tough guys for Trump!”.

The actor even mocked the president for being unable to get the joke. “That was crazy, crazy. I don’t understand it. I still don’t get it,” David said. During the lengthy interview, the actor shared that the “hardest” thing about the coronavirus crisis was not about thousands of Americans dying, or those that have been hospitalized, and even people losing their work. Rather, David shared that it was watching Trump speak, referring to the administration’s daily briefings. He added that watching the broadcast can turn someone into a “maniac” and likened the president to someone who has “a bad Catskills comic.”

The Seinfeld co-creator even suggested that socialist, Sen. Bernie Sanders, who was often touted as his look-alike, should rather drop out of the Democratic nomination. The actor claimed that the senator had been “too far behind” in terms of getting the votes he needed to win against former vice-president Joe Biden. David even believed that Sanders should stop fooling around, as it had become increasingly apparent that “Sleepy Joe” will win.

David had been critical of Sanders since the senator’s 2016 failed presidential bid. At that time, the actor impersonated the Democratic socialist on Saturday Night Live. The actor said that he was relieved when Sanders lost the nomination. David stated that the senator’s loss went in his favor as it had saved him time to travel to New York.

In a report from The Patriot Hill, another Seinfeld star, Jason Alexander, also shared his massive disdain against the administration. The actor who played George Costanza, at the now-defunct sitcom, wrote in a Twitter post that Trump was the most “despicable president in history.”

Alexander’s vicious attack on the administration came as a response after Trump tweeted that the federal government should only serve as a “back-up” for local hospitals, and these medical institutions should have anticipated and prepared the necessary supplies needed to treat patients. The president even suggested that the hospitals were asking more, not because of need, but because of politics.
