“I mean honest[ly], have you ever had a point in your life where the federal government did too much for you? Where they gave you too much?” Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez asked while concocting a glass of margarita on Friday.

The lawmaker’s statements were directed to elected officials during another social media Livestream on Instagram. AOC demanded that lawmakers should provide more support for those who have been economically affected by the coronavirus pandemic, adding that “they want to continue to get away with doing far too little.”

She called out that social media users should clamor for additional coronavirus relief from their own public officials, adding that she had bever seen the government do enough for its people. “Never happened to me. I’ve never seen that in my life,” she continued. AOC lamented that she never had enough scholarships or people receiving enough relief and even bringing up the issue of immigration, saying that Puerto Rico did not receive enough aid.

AOC then backtracked her statement by claiming that a lot of Republicans have a lot to say and should surely disagree with her opinion. Then, she swiftly moved on from politics to liquor as she continued to give a brief explainer on how to concoct her favorite alcoholic beverage. In the video, the lawmaker even has enough time to chill and say that she prefers it with lots of ice and pineapple juice.

AOC and other lawmakers have currently posed to work on the next level of Trump’s economic relief package. After the delayed $2 trillion stimulus bill, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell has already warned House Speaker Nancy Pelosi that she should not use the bill as a way to push for the Democratic agenda. Pelosi also conceded with McConnell’s statement. In an interview with CNBC on Friday, the House Speaker agreed that the three previous bills which have been submitted to Congress were bipartisan. Pelosi added that she was in favor of providing a bill that would meet the people’s needs, including providing clean water, better broadband connection, etc. “That may have to be for a bill beyond this,” Pelosi said.

Pelosi, who was best known for her speech ripping incident, followed that up with a tweet from her CNBC interview. In the footage, the House Speaker revealed her plans to implement sweeping changes in the upcoming 2020 general elections. The staunch Democrat claimed that they are pushing for a vote-by-mail election in order to “promote the future of our democracy.” The said voting system had been frowned upon by the GOP, as Republicans were concerned that such a voting system might be more vulnerable to corruption.

On Saturday, the lawmaker also complained without citing any source or showing any figures that the COVID-19 deaths had been affecting mostly colored communities. AOC declared that the numbers were due to the wealth gap, and racism in the country.

Last week, AOC also held another Livestream video. During a Q&A session, the lawmaker claimed that President Donald Trump’s negligence and incompetence in handling the crisis have resulted in unnecessary deaths from the COVID-19.

Just like other Democrats, AOC pinned the blame on Trump, stating that had he acted early and made the decision to issue a travel ban on China, then the country would have prevented numerous deaths. She also accused the president of downplaying the seriousness of the virus, which had cost the country to lag in terms of preparations, from providing PPEs to manufacturing the necessary ventilators.
